CASE STUDY

Logo Design

My assignment, for my internship with the startup marketing agency, Capture Casper, was to reimagine their logo. My only specifications were to use their specified color scheme, and to create an emblem logo.

INITIAL THOUGHTS

Before doing any design work, I researched emblem logos, to gain an understanding of what they entail. Then, I experimented with how to create an interesting logo using the double "C" in the name.

DEVELOPING MY IDEA

After playing around with the shape of the C, I had an idea. I realized that the C reminded me of a magnet. Using a magnet in the logo, I decided, was the right move because it perfectly symbolizes the company. This marketing company wants to be "magnetic" and attract clients.

THINKING ABOUT DESIGN AND COLOR

I thought I would be in the home stretch once I had decided on an idea, but I was wrong! I experimented with color, opacity, hue, shape, text orientation until I settled on what I liked (the logo furthest to the right).

FINAL PRODUCT

My boss gave me feedback, saying that it needed more detail and felt a little flat. I immediately thought to add a shadow, and also electric bolts for an exciting touch. I also then designed how I would envision Capture Casper's business card to look like. The client liked this color of brown and has replaced the company colors to be white, pink and brown.
